Annals of Applied Probability


Introduction to annals of applied probability:

The Annals of Applied Probability seek to publish research of the highest quality reproduce the different facets of current Applied Probability.  Most important emphasis is located on importance and originality. Probability is a system of expressing information or belief that an event will occur or has occurred. The application of probability is other technical and business domain. Conversely, while investigate is motivated by applied problems, it is usually the mathematical aspect of the problems that are of most importance to researchers I like to share this Statistics Probability with you all through my article.

Some Problems for Annals of Applied Probability:

Annals of applied probability problems 1:

In that color pencils there are 26 red color pencils, 37 blue color pencils and 60 yellow color pencils.

Evaluate the probability,

Select the red color pencils.

Select the blue color pencils.

Solution:

Totality color pencils n(S) = 124

Red color pencils n (A) = 27

Blue color pencils n (B) =37

Yellow color pencils n(C) = 60

P (A) is the probability for select yellow color pencils.

`P = (A) = (n(A))/(n(S))`

`= 27/124`

P (B) is the probability for select blue color pencils.

`P(B) =(n(B))/(n(S))`

= `37/124`

Annals of applied probability problems 2:

33 tokens numbered from 1 to 33, five tokens are drawn simultaneously. Find out the probability that:

a) Both the tokens drawn have prime number

b) None of the tokens drawn have a prime number

Solution:

We want to select 5 tokens from 33 tokens.

n(S) = 33C5

`= (33!) / (5! (33 - 5)!)`


`= 237,336`

a) Let A = Event that both the tokens have prime numbers.

Prime numbers “between” 1 to 33 are: 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31

Total Numbers = 14.

We have to select 2 numbers from these 14 numbers.

n(A) = 14C5

`= (14!)/ (5! (14 - 5)!)`

`= 2,002`

`P(A)=(n(A)) / (n(S))`

`= (2,002)/(237,336)`

b) Non prime numbers between 1 to 33: 33 - 14 = 19

Let B = Event that both the tokens have non-prime numbers.

Now we have to select 2 numbers, from 19 numbers. Please express your views of this topic 2 digit subtraction with regrouping by commenting on blog

n(B) = 19C5

`= (19!)/ (5!(19 - 5)!)`

`= 11,628`

`P(B) = (n(B)) / (n(S))`

`=(11,628)/ (237,336)`

Practice Problem for Annals of Applied Probability:

In a pack of cards two cards where drawn at random. Find the chance that one is and king the other a queen.

Answer: `8/ 663`

In that color pencils there are 26 red color pencils, 37 blue color pencils and 50 yellow color pencils.

Answer: n (a) = `9/38 ` (b) = `37/114`
